In what is likely to be regarded as his last year

    in General Discussions

But Brady wasn't done with the game just yet, despite the fact that his home away from home was asking for him to leave. With only 24 touchdowns in the year, Brady's average performance was the cause of his subsequent drop in rating Madden, but we'd come to learn that what Brady was lacking was a roster that had several more gifted targets.

Suddenly donning the jersey of the Tampa (Tompa?) Bay Buccaneers, Brady looked like a frog out of the water of Florida however, not for long. The transition from one fantastic coach to another definitely helped and the ragtag Patriots receivers from his last season during his time in New England were suddenly swapped with stars like Mike Evans and Chris Godwin--and and, oh yeah, Gronk came out of retirement to join the team too.

In total, Brady's new team earned him his 10-year Super Bowl appearance, and it came in a game that saw the Bucs wipe the floor with the once-thought insurmountable Chiefs. Brady did not retire yet, however, so you could expect another delay to the "gradual decline" we'd heard about for the past decade.

In what is likely to be regarded as his last year as an active player in Madden -- barring any Favre-like remorse--Brady was the first player as a player in Madden 22, a total of 97. He also graced the cover for the second time, this time alongside Patrick Mahomes, who was doing similar things. He once again was the top player in the league for touchdowns in yards, yards and completions and, at first ever, attempted passes. He was able to throw the ball more than 700 times, and he was successful on 68% of the passes, showing no indications that he is aging which has, up to this point left no one in football, let alone all a player with the wear and tear like Brady has.

Brady's annual status as a dominating Madden star and two-time Cover athlete are the equivalent of trophies for one of the most successful winners that sports has ever produced. Brady retires as the all-time leader in nearly every category of passing, including career-high yards and touchdowns. He also holds the record for his record-breaking seven Super Bowl victories. There's not been another NFL player quite like Tom Brady, and maybe there never will be. Losing the league is one shared by members of the Madden community, which now need to find a new hero when they're competing for an important league title that must be won or making their Ultimate Team. Farewell to the greatest of all time.
